The hardest part about being a backpacker is the times when you are required to stay home for a while. Maybe it was because of work, a family member in need, or maybe the journey has ended for now, whatever the reason for staying put, it’s hard to do so. We have been accustomed to a life where we see and experience new things every day, where the places we sleep could be incredibly rough or, depending on how lucky we are that day, luxurious. But if times call for a hiatus on our travels, then we have to hang our bags and gears safely for the next adventure.
It is important to keep your equipment in optimal condition, while it is easy to buy new things, the memories of your trusty backpack and the gear you carried in it are irreplaceable. I had once lost such dear mementos to vile pests, but through the hands of the men of Pest Control Company Apopka, I had my vengeance. So it is important to note that you will need to place your backpacking gear at a safe place, preferably occasionally treated with pesticide and such.
You will never know when the next adventure will take place; maybe by then, it would be with your children and significant other. Allow yourself the pleasure of sharing them the stories your backpacking gear holds, and maybe even make new ones one day.
